Questions and answers
Dr. M.A. JAYASHREE and Prof. M.A. NARASIMHAN come from Mysore,
Karnataka, in Southern India. They were born and brought up in a
traditional Indian brahman family environment. After starting their
studies in the scientific field, they became more and more involved in
the understanding of Indian philosophy and scriptures. This led them to
achieve a deep knowledge of both Yoga and Sanscrit, which they speak
fluently. Dr. M.A. JAYASHREE took her phd in Sanscrit, of which she has
become a popular teacher by working in several educational institutions
of Mysore (College and University) alongside her private tuition to Yoga
students. She has also studied the traditional Indian music system, and
her wonderful voice has allowed her to become a recognized singer. She
has featured several CDs on Veda, Yoga Sutra, Sloka and Sanscrit poems.
Prof M.A. NARASIMHAN has dedicated his whole life to research and
understanding. After his institutional studies he became a disciple of
Maharishi Yogi, and followed his master for 12 years with great devotion
helping him spread Transcendental Meditation throughout India and the
world. He held training courses and taught in jails, asylums, oncologic
clinics and simply small rural villages where life conditions are the
toughest. Simplicity and humbleness are their main distinctive features,
making them truly great masters, exceptional carriers of the traditional
Indian knowledge trough a clear, understandable, honest and spontaneous
message, which goes beyond intellect and hits straight at the heart.
They are the founders of the
Anantha Research
Foundation,
Sanskrit & Yoga Research Foundation, Mysore
www.anantharesearch.org, whose purpose is to bring the
wisdom of traditional Indian teachings to contemporary students all over
the world. This Italian event is part of a European tour touching eight
cities.
The workshop is open to EVERYONE: this extraordinary event aims to be a
moment of sharing of YOGA where UNION, its real and only purpose, can be
perceived and experienced by all the attendants regardless of culture
and chosen practice or tradition. The universal nature of Yoga through
the teachings of Patanjali will be the main subject matter.
